Empowering you with the skills for lifelong participation in the activities you love.

Dr. Kat Bower PT, DPT, MTC, PN-1.

Dr. Kat Bower PT is a California native who received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine for Health Science in San Diego, CA, a BA in Dance Science from CSU Long Beach, and her comprehensive Pilates training from BASI and Polestar Pilates. Upon graduation she left the California sunsets for the Miami sunrises, and began to establish herself as leading dance medicine practitioner. In 2013 Kat was offered the position as Director of Dance Medicine for Miami City Ballet, and jumped at the opportunity. Over the next 7 season she directly treated and coordinated care for the 50+ dancers of Miami City Ballet. Her time working with such high level athletes opened her eyes to the complexity of injuries and the importance of treating the whole individual and not just the diagnosed injury. Over the years Kat has developed a unique holistic approach to returning the dancer, athlete and active individual to their optimal performance. Through active listening, compassion and working together on goal development Kat is able to empower her clients with the skills for lifelong participation in the activities they love.

Since hanging up her own dance bag in 2012 Kat found a deep love for endurance sports. She took to road cycling in 2012, and in 2016 began training and racing half and full distance Ironman triathlons. She loves to catch a morning sunrise on the bike, or spend the day in the mountains hiking or skiing and during the summer she can be found plunging into alpine lakes during backpacking trips. Her love for endurance athletics has expanded her knowledge and understanding of the demands on the female athlete, and how to create longevity in sport.

My Treatment Philosophy

In 2021 I stepped down from my role as the Director of Dance Medicine at Miami City Ballet to provide a more thorough patient experience. My goal is to deliver care to patients through a holistic approach, at standards that my patients and I expect and deserve.

Based in a strong movement, biomechanics, and manual therapy background, my approach to treating helps to empower my patients to better understand their bodies, injuries and how to move better. This approach provides my patients with the opportunity for longevity in their sport or activity.

Through one on one care centered around active listening and teamwork we are able to dig deep to find the root cause of your injury/pain. Together we will develop a plan to have you back performing at your best

I believe in treating the person in front of me, you are more than your diagnosis, I work to address the whole person including sleep, nutrition, stress and recovery.
